Is my data safe? Do my photos get uploaded?

Photo analysis runs on your device. Gleaner does not upload your photos. On iOS and Android, optional pseudonymous usage and technical data are sent to Firebase purchase security runs as required on mobile; optional Analytics is sent only if you allow it. macOS sends no remote Analytics. See our Privacy Policy.

How does it decide the “best” photo?

An on-device AI quality model scores each photo in a look-alike group for sharpness and exposure, and marks the highest-scoring one as the keeper. You can always override it before deleting.

Where do deleted photos go? Can I get them back?

On iOS, deleted photos move to Recently Deleted. On Android 11 or later, they move to MediaStore Trash. Your operating system controls how long they remain recoverable. On Android 8 through 10, and during folder cleanup on macOS, deletion is permanent after a warning.

What does Gleaner Pro include?

The free version lets you clean three groups. Gleaner Pro unlocks unlimited cleanups. It’s available as a yearly, monthly, or weekly subscription, or a one-time purchase. Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open the paywall and tap Restore. Your Pro entitlement is tied to your store account.

How do I turn off diagnostics?

Analytics starts off on iOS and Android and is sent only if you opt in. Open Settings → Help improve the AI to change your choice. Turning it off stops future collection but does not delete data already collected.
